What should you do when you see a coyote?

Nope. It’s best to scare coyotes away when you see them. Running isn’t a great message to send to a coyote. Remain calm and remember to scare the coyote away. If the coyote is very difficult to scare away or acting aggressively, back away from it slowly (while making noise) and contact the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife at 971-673-6000.
A
Offer it food to help tame it
B
Clap, yell, or stomp to scare it away
C
Approach, follow, or otherwise entice the coyote to come near you
D
Run away as fast as you can
